Get ready for a swingin’ start to your dance year at Rhythm Rendezvous, a weekend filled with dance, community, and the talent of renowned international guest teacher, Matt Richey.
The perfect way to immerse yourself in new concepts, new friends and great music, Canberra and the dance floor welcome you. Rhythm Rendezvous is a boutique mini-weekender and more; it’s a celebration of the artistry, the rhythm, and the sheer joy of Lindy Hop and Balboa.

Meet Your Teacher: Matt Richey
Matt Richey, California Swing Dance Hall of Fame inductee, is an All Star/Champion level dancer in Lindy Hop, and Balboa and West Coast Swing. His accolades and passion for swing dance make him the perfect guide for your Rhythm Rendezvous experience.
Over the years, Matt has won hundreds of titles in multiple styles of swing, including West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop and Balboa. He is becoming the most recognized crossover dancer in the circuit as well as being a familiar face on the social dance floor everywhere! In 2018 Matt was inducted to the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame. As much as Matt loves swing dancing, he loves teaching and sharing his love for dancing and music just as much! Matt is not only a celebrated dancer but also a dedicated instructor. He has raised funds to support youth dancers, even taking them to the International Lindy Hop Championships. Matt’s unique crossover style and social dance floor charisma have earned him recognition worldwide, and we are very excited to be introducing him to the Lindy Hop scene in Australia.

- 1 pm – 3 pm: Lindy Hop – Tailored for dancers with 4 years or more of experience

- 10 am – 12 pm: Balboa – Ideal for those dancing 6 months to 3 years
- 1 pm – 3 pm: Balboa – Geared towards dancers with 3 years or more of experience

Social Pass: $35
Dive into the nighttime vibes with our Social Dance Only Pass, granting entry to the evening festivities where you can dance, connect, and enjoy the swing community.
